Gucci presented color on the first day on Milan Fashion Week. The jewel tones were so lively they would make the queen of the nile gasp in awe. It makes perfect sense that Gucci would adorn women in such rich hues after the gloom of winter. After all, it is a spring/summer collection.
Prada's show was a nod to Japanese style with origami folded pieces and basic colors such as white, black, blue and red. Certainly we must make mention of the metallic sock shoes; star trek anyone? I would think that very few women can pull off wearing these or would even attempt. Quirky yes and these artsy pieces may not seem particularly wearable, but it is Prada baby!
Emporio Armani's collection was a light affair with whimsical, neat pieces which featured a bit of metallic. The pastels were in quite understated tones.
Max Mara's collection signals a woman on the prowl. The pieces featured a palette of earth tones with various animal and foliage prints as well as a dash of plaid.
