New Yorkers and visitors to the city alike have bestowed many titles
on New York City such as; the city that never sleeps, the capital of the
world, the center of the universe, as well as the big apple.
However, irrespective of the name you attach to this city it is obvious that NYC is larger than life for many reasons. Below, are few reasons why I love NYC and I think you will too.
1) Shopping - from ultra high end to mass market and everything in between
2) World class restaurants and late night dining
3) The largest and best melting pot of the world's cuisines
4) An abundance of museums, including those on Museum Mile
5) The theatre district; because a Broadway show is a great escape at any time
6) Art galleries galore
7) Public transportation to practically every corner of the city
8) Waterfront parks, central park and all other parks and green open spaces
9) Famous landmarks such as the statue of liberty, empire state building, etc.
10) Spotting famous people; celebs, athletes, designers, models, star chefs, etc
11) Convenience; grocery stores, pharmacies, hairdressers are blocks away
12) A true mix of the world's people; from every country out there.
13) New York style pizza
14) Visitor friendly; you can always find someone to assist with directions.
15) Last but not least, the holiday crowds. 42nd Street anyone?
Why do you love NYC?
Great post and so much to love! NYC is high-up on my must travel to list.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain that I'd just love everything about New York
ReplyDeleteI love the density of humanity, architecture, art, and life crammed into long blocks... where you can create a rich photo shoot on any corner. I love the food, the lights, and the nightlife.

I love NYC. :) It's one of my fave cities to visit... my best friend moved away from there so I have less reason to go now.. but man I miss the food especially! And the fact that there are so many options at night time.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE NYC! My hubby took me there this past December, a few days before Christmas. We saw the Christmas Spectacular and it was AMAZING. The city is amazing all the time, but there is something magical right before Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love NYC. I am heading back there in October and can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever been. Definitely on my next-big-trip-to-take list!
ReplyDeleteI've never been but it sounds wonderful. My friend is moving there soon so I might have to visit soon :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh you are making me miss New York City!! I've only been there once, but it was amazing!! I am trying to plan a trip there again with my Husband. Hopefully we can ditch the kids for the trip, though ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things I love about New York, but the Chrysler building at night is probably my favorite thing. I'm partial to the museums though.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to NYC. I'm not much of a big city person but I've always wanted to visit!
ReplyDeleteI loved NYC when I visited. So much to do and see.
ReplyDeleteI just recently moved to CO from NYC which is my home state and I still can't get the hang of no public transportation. I grew up in Crown Heights Brooklyn, then moved to Bed-Stuy where my husband is from and lived there until we moved here 3 years ago. I do have plans on moving back to NY because there's no place like home.
ReplyDeleteI love NYC so you dont have to convince me :)
ReplyDeleteI love NYC but last time I went #1 was definitely my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to copy and paste my favorites from your list but then the whole list would be here in this comment! NYC is so close to my heart...
ReplyDeleteI've never been to NYC, it's almost stupid. But I'm headed over there in a month or so, so it'll be good to get there finally and take some photos!
ReplyDeleteNew York is on my list of places to visit! My hubs and I almost took off when we were dating but figured we didn't even have enough money for gas to get there haha. Hopefully someday sooner rather than later. I would love living in the area for a bit too. Living in a city that never sleeps sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteI've been to New York City twice, and I love everything about it. I really want to go back again!
ReplyDeleteAlways wanted to visit NYC. Great list :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE New York!! Before having kids, I was there 5-10 times a year as I only live in MA but I finally got back after three years last month. I can't wait to bring the kids as they grow up.
ReplyDeleteI've only been to NYC once, when I was a teenager (and for only one day), but I would LOVE to go back! It definitely sounds like one of the most wonderful cities I could imagine - all the art and food and fun! Someday... xoxo
ReplyDeleteI havent been to NYC since high school - but I want to get back there with my husband. Maybe I will have a list of things I love after that!
ReplyDeleteI love New York so much! I actually can't imagine living somewhere else, as strange as that may seem.
ReplyDeleteI've been once and I loved it...I'd love to go back and see those holiday crowds. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, you're making me want to go back to New York! I've only been once!
ReplyDeleteI think as a native New Yorker the one thing that I absolutely MISS is the public transportation that is 24hours! Jeez, it doesn't get any better than that.

there's just too much to love about NYC! I'm only about 2.5 hours away, and my boyfriend's sister goes to Marymount Manhattan, so we get there pretty often. I love Central Park and the Met!
ReplyDeleteI lived in NYC for two summers, and I loved every second of it. I can't wait to go back!
